How to Turn Off Windows Activation Messages in Windows 8
The following article will teach you how to disable the pop-up desktop menu that tells you "Activate Windows" in the trial version of Windows 8 product key.
Disable manual security notifications
1 Search the Action Center of your PC. You can do this in a few different ways:
Click the white flag in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Type "Action Center" in the search bar of the Start menu.
2 Click Open Action Center. If you used search in the Start menu to find Action Center, this option would simply say Action Center.
3 Click Change Action Center settings. It is located on the left side of your screen.
4 Click the box next to "Activate Windows." This is the "Privacy Notice" section. Clicking this box will deselect this checkbox, thus clearing the activation message.
Although this method will work for some users, the Windows Activation box is usually grayed out and therefore can not be clicked. If this is the case, you will need to use an Enabler program object like Winabler to unlock the button.
By using Winabler to disable security messages
1 Open the Winabler site. Winabler is a tool that allows you to tie gray (clickable) buttons to allow you to click on them.
2 Click HERE to the left of the "Standard Installation" version of Winabler. This will be the 1625 KB or 1723 KB Winabler version.
Other versions of Winabler on this site require additional setup, so be sure to follow the standard installation.
3 Double-click the Winabler installation program. This will be on your computer (or wherever your default save location).
You may need to verify that you want to proceed with this program by clicking Yes.
4 Follow the on-screen instructions. While setting up Winabler, you will need to do the following:
Select the installation location.
5 Open the Action Center settings menu if it is not already open. While waiting for Winabler to complete the installation, you will want to navigate to the grayed-out Windows box if you have not opened the menu yet.
6 Open Winabler. Do so by double-clicking on the Winabler icon - it will be in the position you selected during setup.
Winabler installs to your computer by default.
7 Click and drag the Winabler crosses into the Windows product key Activation box. This will unlock the button.
The button may appear gray, but you will be able to click that button after dropping a decimal point on the button.
If the box still can not be clicked, try checking for repeating objects that allow continuous disabling of the box in the Winabler window and try again.
8 Uncheck the box to activate Windows.
9 Click OK. This will save your settings and prevent Windows 8 activation notifications from appearing.
10 Consider activation of Windows 8 product key. The only long-term fix for those awkward Windows activation messages is to verify your version of Windows 8.
