Windows 7 continues to "dominate" Windows 8 in the battle for market share
Nearly two years since the release of Windows 8, but Windows 7 still dominates the Windows platform with 52.71% market share.
Seems like the market share of Windows 8.1 product key will increase slightly, but actually according to Net Applications records, the market share of Windows 8.1 is still down. In August, Windows 8.1 lost 0.42% market share, resulting in total market share down to 6.67%. Windows 8 dropped 0.69%, down from 6.28% the previous month. Windows 8 and 8.1 are currently running on 12.26% of computers worldwide.
On the other hand, Windows 7 still increased 1.5% market share, increasing the current market share to 52.71%. Microsoft's abandoned child, Windows XP, has officially "died" in April, but it still has 23.87% market share.
